Your expression is great in the guy next to the umbrella stand, and I think you captured the guy who played super-chess with his kid very well. Keep up the loose linework (that's something I am struggling with doing) and remember what Patrick was saying about varying line/making lines darker based on the weight distribution in the character
I think your line work is loosening up nicely, as evidenced by the figure standing by the chess piece. on the top right of page 1. You especially nailed the shape, length, and weight of his legs/pants with few, and accurate lines. Good work.
Matt, Overall, these are definitely getting stronger and I am sensing more confidence in the effort to get a nice loose gesture established, while considering character and weight, as well as silhouette. Please continue to work on establishing a stronger 'final' contour, while maintaining a loose approach... this is one of my dilemmas with which I struggle, as well so you're not alone. Try to give indications of faces and hands a little more, as well - good use of surroundings. Keep it up !

I think you've improved so much! Which is awesome! You're putting alot of structure into the anatomy which is good and also including surroundings.
ReplyDeleteVery good use of shapes to make various people! You're getting increasingly better with every assignment you do.
